Gingers gone... what's next!

On a sad note, Ginger’s Tavern on Barrington St, home of many a pint had by Queenie and friends of hers, including Mr. and Mrs Monkey and the Byrnes on many occasions including the Monkey wedding, and separately Redser Byrne, as well as Jersey Girl and her Boy, Polly, Shazz and many others..... well, Ginger's Tavern closed last night forever.

The owners are moving out of town to focus on their micro-brewery.

Himself says I am a pub joner.

Everytime I leave a place, my local closes down.

Ginger will hold a special place in my heart. Not as special as Smoothies. But special enough.

What I am really worried about is the long, slow death of Barrington St., the main street of Halifax city.

Is there any of the multiple 'development' organizations out there working on this?

Fusion Halifax maybe??

Or the Chamber of Commerce?

Or the Downtown Business Commission??

You know, boys and girls, if you don't stop this slide, soon there'll be nowhere downtown to engage in your true raison d'etre, which is of course to swap business cards.
