I think you mean that crusty white deposit that forms from the accumulated toothpaste, saliva and tap water that runs out of the tooth brush heads once you pop them back in their receptacles.
Or is there some other disgusting stuff I don't know about?

The very one. Although in my case, by the time I get home in the evening, it has dried to a nasty, dull greyish colour.
Having said that, cleaning it all up first thing in the morning is not my favourite way to start the day.
