Isn't it nice to have these all simply defined at last??
And to see that Baby boomers and Gen Xers don't binge drink and say whatever all the time.
Baby-boomers: broadly speaking, includes those born between 1946 and 1962.
Generation X: This grouping includes those born between 1962 and 1981. The X in the title refers to the namelessness of a generation who felt overshadowed by baby-boomers. With their teenage years spent in the patently ridiculous 1980s, it's no surprise that this generation specialise in irony and sarcasm. Many grew up under the Reagan/Thatcher axis, and were marked by events such as the fall of communism and apartheid and, later, the rise of the internet. They dismissively refer to baby-boomers as "hippies", while boomers prefer to pretend that Gen Xers simply don't exist.
Generation Y: The newest cultural generation, Generation Y, refers to those born between 1981 and 2000. They intensely dislike the name Generation Y, as they feel it's too linked to Generation X. It's a bit early to collate any meaningful material on them; however, the baby-boomers think all they do is binge-drink and say "whatever" all the time.

"whatever"
I think this is what the pepsi ad was derived from. Not the other way around
